A British woman claimed plans to bury her late husband at Walt Disney World in Florida were ruined after an airline temporarily lost her luggage containing cremated remains.
Welsh 78-year-old Joyce Jackson has claimed that Virgin Atlantic accidentally left a suitcase containing her husband Gordon’s ashes at Manchester Airport. Local North Wales live.
Jackson, who lost her husband in a tragic accident last year, intended to bury parts of Gordon’s remains at his favorite vacation destination near his 80th birthday and wedding anniversary.
“Gordon loved it there,” Jackson told the Welsh outlet of Disney World. I wanted to bury the in there.”

“But it was as if Virgin Atlantic didn’t care,” Jackson added.
Jackson, who was married to Gordon for 57 years, believes the damaged luggage was due to what she described as the airline’s “flimsy” baggage tag, which she believes must have fallen off. .
“At Manchester Airport I was told to use the self-service baggage drop,” she said. A man put it on. It wasn’t a self-adhesive label that was looped around the handle and attached at both ends. It was more like paper. But it must have passed. “
“I arrived in Orlando with no luggage. I traveled light, just what I was wearing and didn’t even have a toothbrush,” she further explained.

Ms. Jackson said Walt Disney World staff were aware of her plight and helped her.

“I had to wash my underwear with shower gel every night,” Jackson said. “But Disney [was] Very good considering it wasn’t their problem. They gave me a toothbrush and arranged for a taxi to take me to the supermarket so I could buy hairspray and toothpaste. I also bought three dresses, a T-shirt and a bag.”
Jackson said she had to spend about $800 to replace the lost clothes and toiletries from the package, but she was eventually reunited with it after Orlando’s manager tracked the location of the package. She returned home on October 13, but said she likely missed the last chance to have Gordon’s ashes and wedding ring buried in Florida.

“I can’t go home because I have no money. I’m 78,” she said.
Virgin Atlantic did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment, but reportedly apologized to Jackson for the ordeal.
