Monday
Captain America: Civil War (2016) 7pm on TNT. Typically, the Avengers work together to battle alien armies and supervillain warlords who seek to destroy Earth.However In this movie, Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) make it personal and fight over their political beliefs. AO Scott, in his review for The New York Times, called it “a very congested and moderately enjoyable installment of the Avengers cycle.” “The best part of the film is his six-on-six rumble at the airport. His two teams of costumed colleagues and a few ringers mingled together to face off to solve a problem.” ,” Scott wrote. “This fight is interesting because the stakes are relatively low,” he said.
Tom Swift 9pm on CW. This mystery show, named after the long-running series of young adult books that inspired it, concludes this week after just one season. Played by Tian Richards, the title follows her character as she explores conspiracy theories and mysterious phenomena, helping her with the help of her best friend (Ashley Murray), Bodie her guard (Marquis Wilson), and AI her companion. Solve your father’s disappearance. (Lever Burton).
edge of the earth 9 p.m. on HBO. In this four-part documentary miniseries, skiers, kayakers, climbers, and surfers show off their skills and test themselves by completing near-impossible challenges around the world. His first three episodes featured skiing in Alaska’s Glacier Bay National Park. Kayaking on the Chalupass River in Ecuador. Climb around Pik Slesova in Kyrgyzstan. Surfers Ian Walsh and Grant Baker, better known as Twiggy, travel to the West Coast of Africa in the final episode, which airs on Tuesday.
Wednesday
CMA Fest 8 p.m. on ABC. The music festival, which took place at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium in early June, hit the small screen and aired footage of select performances on Wednesday. Dierks Bentley, who I worked with on the song “Different for Girls,” will host the three-hour broadcast. Performances from Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett and more are on the way, as well as collaborations from Bentley and Billy Ray Cyrus. Wynonna Judd and Carly Pierce. Thursday
unreal joker 10 p.m. on TruTV. The ninth season of this long-running prank show wasn’t without a speed bump: production had to comply with Covid-19 protocols, and the show had to rethink its entire format — Strangers in Public Places Instead of going in person, rent places and movies for longer periods. Since one of the series’ founders, Joe Gat, abruptly stopped appearing on the show earlier this year, celebrities like Jillian Bell, Adam Parry, and Colin Jost have made guest appearances. Brooke Shields joins us for this week’s season finale.
Friday
Orson Welles Marathon from 2pm at TCMDiscover Orson Welles’ eclectic talents as a director, actor and screenwriter in this classic line-up.Marathon starts at 2pm people who do not know (1946), followed by Mr.Arkadin (1955) at 4 — both directed, starred and written by Wells. So, Othello (1952) — starring and directed by Wells — aired at 6 p.m., followed by third man (1949), directed by Carol Reed, starring and writing for Wells. lady of shanghai (1948) continues at 10 and citizen cane (1941) 11:45.
The Inn at Little Washington: A delicious documentary (2020) 10pm on PBS (check local listings). A battle for three Michelin stars, an old garage converted into an inn, and an accomplished chef: this documentary follows cook Patrick O’Connell at the Inn at Little Washington, the quaint hotel and restaurant he founded. We follow you as you plan your 40th anniversary. This documentary shows many of O’Connell’s culinary creations in action and discusses the inn’s tumultuous history.
Saturday
Roman holiday (1953) 8pm at TCM. Audrey Hepburn was just 24 when this romantic comedy was released. The story follows European princess Anne (Hepburn) as she spends a night out of her overwhelmed life. Instead of having a good night, things go wrong and she is rescued by American reporter Joe Bradley (Gregory Peck). Despite Bradley’s intentions to use the princess’ fame, a love story begins.
Sunday
become elizabeth 8pm at Stars. In 1547, Queen Elizabeth I (then known as Elizabeth Tudor) watched her nine-year-old half-brother become king after the death of the infamous long-absent King Henry VIII. These are the true circumstances that inspired Elizabeth’s fictional story of her teenage years in this series. The show, which ends its first season on Sunday, focuses on Elizabeth (Alicia von Rittberg) and her siblings, Mary (Romola Garai) and Edward (Oliver Zetterstrom).
BET SPECIAL: 37th Annual Stella Gospel Music Awards 8pm on BET. Hosted by gospel artists Jekalyn Carr and Kierra Sheard, the ceremony was taped live in Atlanta in mid-July. The ceremony will feature performances by Kirk Franklin, Erica Campbell, Maverick City Music, Marvin Sapp and more.
