US troops detained a senior ISIS leader who claims to be an experienced bomb maker by defense officials during an operation in Syria on Thursday.
“The mission was planned with great care to minimize the risk of collateral damage, especially potential harm to civilians,” said the US-led coalition of ISIS innate determination operations. Said in a statement.
“We did not harm civilians or damage coalition aircraft or assets during the operation.”

The identity of the captured ISIS leader was not immediately released by defense authorities.
ISIS leader Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi Al-Kreisi committed suicide earlier this year by exploding a suicide vest in northwestern Syria during a US special operations anti-terrorism mission.
Prior to that, another former ISIS leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, committed suicide in northern Syria in October 2019 when US special operations forces invaded his location.
