A Texas family is suing the Texas Children’s Hospital, claiming that a 4-year-old child had a vasectomy during surgery to treat an inguinal hernia.
Randy Sollers, a family lawyer, said the boy had an “unintentional” vasectomy during the surgery.
“The standard procedure is to properly identify the anatomy before cutting. I think the surgeon could not properly identify the anatomy before cutting,” Sorrels told FoxNews Digital.
Mr. Sollers said mistakes are “rare”.
NJ PLAYGROUND welcomes children of all abilities: “incredible”
“I’ve seen this mistake occur in another case, but no surgeon cuts a 4-year-old vas deferens. It’s very rare, but very easy. Dissection before cutting. Correctly identify the anatomy. ”
The family who filed the medical malpractice proceeding is concerned about the impact it will have on the child and his potential partner.
“The worse long-term effects are on the reproductive process of 4-year-olds and require a reproductive procedure,” says Sorrels. “I don’t think it’s impossible to have a child, but that can make it more difficult.”

According to a malpractice lawyer, the family will receive $ 500,000 in damages from the Texas Children’s Hospital, which is the largest number of parties in Texas in such cases. This number is derived from the cost of medical expenses for potential breeding procedures.
Texas Children’s Hospital was ranked second among the best Children’s Hospital by the US News & World Report on Tuesday morning. The hospital was ranked 3rd last year.
