Agents of the Texas Border Guard caught two convicted sex offenders after illegally entering the United States from Mexico on Tuesday morning.
According to the US Customs and Border Protection, agents assigned to the Del Rio sector encountered a group of immigrants around 9:15 am. Immigrants were walking in the brush hoping they wouldn’t be seen by the border guards. press release..
The agent detained the migrants and transferred them to an Eagle Pass processing facility. According to records, one of the group, 42-year-old Honduras citizen Edis Noe Hernandez-Ruiz, was convicted of sexual assault in Georgia in 2008 and spent five years in prison. He was deported in 2017.
Less than an hour later, an agent at Eagle Pass South Station came across another immigrant group trying to hide it after illegally entering the United States. The agent detained the group and transferred it to an Eagle Pass processing facility.

During the process, agents discovered that El Salvador’s 55-year-old Jose Marlon de la Omezia, a member of the arrested immigrants, was also a convicted sex offender.
