Prime Minister Boris Johnson faces a potentially betrayal scandal that could disrupt his government, but it is only the latest in his turbulent era as a national leader.
Johnson was not a stranger to controversial and scandalous. He gained a reputation as a Teflon politician who could shrug the revelations that would otherwise end his career.
However, recent controversy may eventually end its lucky execution, as the mass resignation has confused Johnson’s government. After the resignation of about 44 Conservative ministers and aides, Congress canceled the committee’s meeting because the Conservatives did not have enough ministers to attend.
Here is the dispute that Johnson survived and the dispute that might eventually sink him.

“Partygate” made the first dent on the Teflon coat
The most permanent and notorious dispute that Johnson fought involved officials who took place for government reasons during the toughest COVID-19 blockade.
Under the rules of the time, individuals were not allowed to socialize indoors except for “your household or support bubble.” Police issued a total of 126 fixed fine notices to 83 government officials for a total of eight party rallies between May 2020 and April 2021.
At one point, Johnson provided wine and cheese to staff for a May 2020 party in the gardens of 10 Downing Street, according to a report by senior civil servant Sue Gray on the matter. .. At another party at the same venue, party participants were furious until late at night, ending around 4am.
Another party allegedly took place around April 16, 2021, the night before Queen Elizabeth buried her husband, Prince Phillip.
According to eyewitness testimonies and photos reviewed by The Daily Telegraph, party attendees drank wine, ordered to share four large pizzas, and walked down the slides of Johnson’s son Wilf. Someone spilled wine on the copier and almost damaged the laptop that was functioning as an evening jukebox.
Promote Chris Pincher despite allegations of sexual misconduct
Johnson promoted Parliamentarian Chris Pincher to the position of Deputy Leader. This is one of the people responsible for arranging votes alongside the Conservative factions.
Pincher took over the role on February 8th this year and resigned on June 30th after groping for two men at the Carlton Club in Piccadilly. Another whip received the complaint and proceeded to the main whip, Reuters reported.

Pincher resigned from his role, but Johnson kept him in the party, claiming that the problem was “solved.”
However, more claims have surfaced, including at least one from December 2021, a problem raised at the Whip Office at the time of Pincher’s appointment. Johnson claimed he was unaware of the allegations against Pincher at the time of his promotion. But on July 4, the Prime Minister’s Office admitted that Johnson knew it but he “forgot.”
The revelation prompted immediate opposition from his party and the cabinet, saying that many lost confidence in their leaders.
Sex scandal during the Foreign Minister’s era
Johnson also sees his share of the sex scandal, including the 2018 incident in which former Conservative Vice-Chair Sir Michael Ashcroft stepped into Johnson having oral sex in his office. I’ve been.
Johnson was then Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth, and was involved with a mistress named Carrie Simmons, who married after divorcing his wife in 2020.
This issue did not appear in the treatise until June 18, this year, around the time of Pincher’s revelation detailing the case. The Times of London published an article about the incident, which disappeared two days later, the New York Times reported.
Many believe that Downing Street has moved to suppress the article. Instead of killing the problem, it only attracted more attention to it.
The British magazine Private Eye instead published details on June 30th, providing even greater context for the case. The Private Eye report claimed that Simmons “people” contacted Times publisher News UK and advised them to pull the story.
Owen Paterson Incident
Pincher wasn’t the only one that Johnson had to defend in the face of immense criticism. In 2021, Johnson opposed the Commission’s recommendation to suspend for 30 days after Conservative lawmaker and former minister Owen Paterson was alleged to have committed a “terrible case of paid advocacy.”
Patterson lobbied on behalf of several companies that paid him. This includes at least two £ 500,000 payments. The Guardian reported that it regularly “requested access to ministers and regulatory agencies” on behalf of these companies.
Boris Johnson under pressure: British Conservatives lose two seats
The Conservatives instead responded to the report by proposing to change the mechanism by which Congress investigates lawmakers, but the damage from the headlines at that time resigned Patterson.
The government abandoned the proposed changes triggered by Mr. Patterson’s resignation, and the party was unable to regain his seat in the elections.
Johnson closes government – illegally
From the beginning, Johnson helped Brexit and made great efforts to ensure its success. It also included an unpleasant episode in the face of accusations of misleading the Queen.
He asked Queen Elizabeth II to allow the government to close Congress for five weeks while it was still in conflict with the Brexit Agreement.
Johnson got the Queen’s approval to shut down the government instead of facing this problem. This is a move that the British Supreme Court later decided was illegal.
