“You can’t move forward, you can only move, so we try to honor her by moving as much as we can every day with our actions and voices,” he said. “But her pain obviously doesn’t go away. It’s with you every day.”
Smith faces life in prison if convicted of murder. The Los Angeles District Attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
