Shark sightings swirled around Cape Cod, Massachusetts on Friday.
According to the Atlantic Great White Shark Sanctuary’s Sharktivity app, multiple sightings have been reported off Nauset Beach and North Beach Island.
The app has recorded 25 sightings in the past two days and the Great White Shark Alert was issued Saturday morning after the shark was spotted off Nauset Beach about 75 yards offshore.
Dozens of great white shark sightings were reported in the area last week, some of which are known to the reserve.
Main Beach reopens after shark sightings
A shark named Fruit Loops was spotted on a buoy Friday night and Dylan was spotted Saturday morning.
On the East Coast, shark sightings have become more common along the Long Island coast.
Sightings and multiple bites forced the beach to close.

Florida Natural History and the University of Florida’s International Shark Attack File (ISAF) report that there were only 12 gratuitous bites recorded in New York history prior to this year, and none were fatal. .

He pointed out that there is a gray shark farm off the coast of Fire Island, New York.
Sand tigers, sandbars and dusty sharks are common near the shore.
Conservation efforts have restored shark populations and increased seal populations in New England waters.
Scientists also attribute rising sea temperatures and a resurgence of bunkerfish to increased sightings.
