The second of three puppies stolen from an animal shelter in Atlanta, Georgia in a recent break-in was found safe on Sunday.
Three dogs were taken from PAWS Atlanta in DeKalb County in a burglary early Friday morning. The two puppies were named Violet and Emilia, and the toy Yorkie was named Princeton. Yorkie was about to be adopted.
An employee monitoring security cameras reported hearing the sound of breaking glass after a person wearing a hoodie walked suspiciously around the shelter. The employee called the police and rushed to an evacuation center. When employees arrived, they found broken windows and rocks, and open animal crates.
Violet became the second puppy to be reunited with the shelter after being spotted by a man walking his dog on Sunday morning. Emilia was found safe Friday night by shelter volunteers who saw a photo on her Next Door app that “very similar” to one of her missing puppies.

The man who found Violet noticed that Violet was connected to the phone near the shelter. He recognized her puppy and brought him to the shelter.

The puppy was unharmed, according to the shelter. Violet wore a leash and harness that did not belong to the shelter, but she could have belonged to the person who took her.
“The location where Violet was found is near PAWS Atlanta, and not far from where Emilia was found Friday night,” Shelter wrote. Please be especially careful if you live nearby.”
