Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that Russian airstrikes struck a crowded shopping street, leaving many victims “unimaginable.”
The incident occurred in Kremenchuk, and a video shared on Zelensky’s telegram page showed a large-scale fire on the scene.
“The occupiers fired rockets at a mall that had more than 1000 civilians,” Zelensky wrote. “Mole is on fire, rescuers are fighting fire, the number of victims is unimaginable.
“Russian troops are not dangerous. They have no strategic value. Only attempts by people to lead a normal life offend the occupiers,” Zelensky added.

In a telegram post, Deputy Secretary of the Cheong Wa Dae, Kirill Tymoshenko, wrote that at least two people were killed, about 20 were injured, and nine of them were in serious condition.
“Rescue teams from all surrounding areas are coming to the scene to extinguish the fire and eliminate the consequences,” he said.
Earlier Monday, Mayor Kremenchuk said people were killed in an attack on a “very crowded area” that was not of military importance, but did not provide details of the casualties.
