An 8-year-old Philadelphia girl was grazed by a bullet in the head after a gunshot rang out during a drive-by shooting near Temple University on Thursday night.
Officers from the Temple Police Department and the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 1500 block on North 13th Street before 9 p.m. and reported shootings, Fox Philadelphia reported.
The shooter ambushed another passing vehicle and fired at least 50 rounds. One person in the car injured his leg and was taken to hospital.
An unidentified girl was near the front door of a nearby house when she was grazed by a stray bullet.

No arrests have been made and authorities have not identified a suspect. The unidentified girl’s grandmother told news outlets her granddaughter was doing well.
“Considering what happened, I’m grateful that she’s okay now,” she said. Because he said he didn’t want to play outside at night.”
In a statement, the university addressed the increase in gun violence plaguing the city.
“We cannot accept these crimes as the norm and will work diligently with the Philadelphia Police Shooting Investigation Unit to track down all leads,” the statement said. Police Commissioner Daniel Outlaw later tweeted about Thursday night’s shooting, calling the shooter a “coward.”
