The suspect shot two deputies who were filing eviction papers from the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, then fled in a truck before surrendering at the entrance to Tinker Air Force Base.
One surrogate died Monday afternoon from injuries, and the other man was in stable condition after being rushed to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. Their identities have not yet been released, but Sheriff’s Office spokesman Aaron Bribek said both were veteran agents.
Oklahoma County Sheriff Tommy Johnson told reporters the sheriff first contacted the individual at the front door.
“They went around the back door and the shooting started and they shot the first lieutenant. said before collapsing… in tears.

The suspect fled the residence in a truck and exchanged gunfire with Oklahoma Police Department officers during the chase.
Footage from the helicopter after the chase shows the suspect eventually dropped the rifle through a window and surrendered at the entrance to Tinker Air Force Base, about 10 miles east of where the first shot was fired.

Lawmakers were providing lockout papers when they were shot, officials said.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Aaron Brilbeck told reporters: “It was routine. What they do is they put lockouts and give papers. And that’s pretty much everything, and we’re doing very well,” he told reporters.
