The former Uber driver arrived in the city on Monday afternoon, shortly after crossing from Oklahoma to Arkansas on Friday, February 11.
This week, Burns shared some of his thoughts on “the state of nature” and thanks to our country and its people.
“Free water!”
While Burns was lonely biking, he noticed a small fridge beside a country road.
In front of the fridge, it said, “Water is free! If you need a snack or drink, please!”
It was available to anyone who needed fruits and other items.
Burns said he grabbed a Swiss roll and went his way.
“That way you can feel not just Arkansas and Little Rock, but the whole country,” he said.
“Whole country [commits] These random kind acts. It’s very attractive. “
Burns described the Arkansas people as “very outgoing and curious.”
The people he met quickly recognized his New York accent.
He said they were interested in his unique journey through America.
“At Arkansas, they just want to know everything,” Burns said.
“In a good way,” he added.
Arkansas Parks’Among the Top State Parks’
In a state known for its breathtaking waters, Burns enjoyed his ride along the Arkansas River.
He stayed at a campsite on the coastline for two nights. This is an experience he described as “totally wonderful.”
“They are beautiful and big,” Burns said of a park in Arkansas.
“I stayed in state parks in all states, and [the Arkansas parks are] In the top state parks, “Burns added.
Burns also drank the view from the bridge across the Arkansas River as he pedaled over the overpass.
“I rarely have the opportunity to ride my bike to the middle of the bridge at the top of the Arkansas River,” Burns said.

Burns arrived in Little Rock outside the Capitol on Monday at around 3:20 pm.
The Parliament building, which he described as “huge,” was already closed by the time he got there, so Burns couldn’t get inside.
Little Rock’s “unique” architecture
However, Burns noticed the iconic 10-foot-high bronze doors and appreciated them.
Created by Tiffany Studios in New York in 1910, according to a self-guided tour of the Arkansas State Capitol.
“They are very unique,” Burns said.
“They just get your attention.”
After taking a picture of the Capitol, Burns stopped by for a beer to celebrate his arrival.
‘He was cool’
On his way out of Little Rock, Burns talked to a police officer about where he could stay overnight without any problems.
“I was frank with him,” Burns recalled. “I told him who I was and what I was doing … and he was great. He said,” As long as no one cares, you can sleep anywhere on the road. It was like “Masu”. “
A New York man biking in all 50 states reaches Oklahoma and realizes, “I’m starting to feel proud again.”
“When I camp, I’m more worried about bothering law enforcement agencies or calling someone to check me,” Burns said.
“But he was so cool that he gave me a little insight into the police and how they treat me here,” he added.
“Warm weather in front of you”
The weather was not as extreme as in Oklahoma-where Burns had to stop for two days due to a snowstorm-the temperature was chilly.
Burns was glad that the weather was looking up.
“The warm climate in front of us allows us not only to stay warm and find a place to sleep, but also to broaden our horizons a little more,” Burns said.
As the days grew longer, Burns said he was looking forward to volunteering. This is what I’m trying to do throughout his journey, wherever possible.

Next stop: Pelican
“I’m a city resident,” said single Burns. “I prefer to ride a bike through New York City rather than going out to the countryside.”
“But you mix it up. You get a rural landscape. In a city, you take action,” he added.
