A New York City surveillance video appears to show three men attacking a Jewish man in front of his five-year-old son in the middle of the day on Wednesday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Yosef “Yossy” Hershkop, a local activist who runs an emergency medical clinic. He injured his face and head.
In a tweet, he wrote that he couldn’t discuss the details of the attack, but thanked the community for the “overflow of support and care.”
“I am grateful to Gd for returning home,” he added.

Rabbi Yaacov Behrman, a friend of Hershkop and founder of the Jewish Future Alliance, said members of the community were “fully confident” that the NYPD would arrest the suspect.
