A midday boxcutter attack was captured on camera in the heart of New York City’s tourist hub.
The New York City Police Department released a video on Sunday showing an unidentified black man — seen wearing a black zip-up jacket and gray or white sweatpants — on busy 7th Avenue and West 42nd Street. A woman was seen running up behind a woman around 10 a.m. in the area of the tourist area of Times Square.
The alleged assaulter cut a woman who was moving what was believed to be a grocery cart with a cutter.

The victim appears to walk away quickly, dragging a cart behind her, before leaving the frame in a brief clip of surveillance footage released by police.
The extent of her injuries was not immediately apparent. Bounties of up to $3,500 are offered for information on suspects.
Police are asking anyone who can identify the suspect to call 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls are confidential.

NYPD data showed felony assaults across the city were 17.3% in June compared to the same month last year. Citywide crime statistics for July were yet to be released as of Monday.
