A drug-sniffing dog led police at Milan’s airport to find about 13 kilograms (about 30 pounds) of cocaine stuffed into the leather upholstery of a power wheelchair, and the user was quickly up on his feet and arrested.

The passenger, a Spaniard, was taken into custody after asking airport officials to guide him in a wheelchair, then getting up and walking without assistance, police said.

The passenger was taken to a local prison, where judicial authorities upheld his detention pending an investigation into the incident, the statement said.

Police said the 11 bags of cocaine, weighing 13.35 kilograms, contained 27,000 doses per person and sold for around €1.4 million ($1.2 million).
