Mexican troops were arrested about 10 years after the infamous drug trafficking organization Rafael Caro Quintello left prison and returned to drug trafficking.
Mexican Navy officials confirmed the arrest of Caroquintero on Friday, but provided no further details. Caro-Quintero left prison in 2013 after being sentenced to 40 years in prison for kidnapping and killing U.S. Drug Enforcement Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena in 1985. ..

Caroquintero is a former leader of the Guadalajara Cartel and DEA claims He returned to drug trafficking and ordered a bloody attack in Sonora, the border area of northern Mexico.
Caro-Quintero allegedly accused Camarena of attacking a marijuana plantation in 1984 and ordered abduction the following year. Camarena’s body was found a month later, along with evidence of torture and ill-treatment.
In 2018, the FBI added Carokintero to the list of the top 10 wanted posters and provided up to $ 20 million incentives for information that could lead to Kintero’s arrest and conviction.

The Court of Appeals overturned Caroquintero’s verdict. The Supreme Court upheld the ruling, but Caroquintero disappeared before the ruling was applied.
