A church in Memphis, Tennessee, hosted a prayer meeting Saturday afternoon for Eliza Fletcher, the mother of two missing children.
Those who knew and loved Fletcher gathered at the Second Presbyterian Church to pray for his safe return.
Fletcher went missing at 4:30 a.m. Friday at Block 3800 Central Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee.
Police said they received two calls at about 7:45 a.m. from Fletcher’s husband, Richard Fletcher III, and one from the University of Memphis.

At the memorial service, people were seen hugging each other as the search for Fletcher entered its second day.
A prayer guide distributed to those who attended the memorial service, quoted from Romans 8:26, states that they should pray for Fletcher’s family and for her safe return.
The church posted an “urgent call to prayer” on Friday asking members to pray for Eliza Fletcher’s safe return.
“Families of the Church, as you may have seen in many news outlets, one of our members, Eliza (Liza) Fletcher, was kidnapped on the run at 4:30 this morning. Let’s hope Liza stays safe and pray with us, she will be found soon,” the post said.

“Please join us in prayer for Liza’s safety and that she will be found soon. Please also pray for her family. The sanctuary will be open for prayers until this afternoon,” the church added. .
The Memphis Police Department said it found a “vehicle of interest” in the kidnapping of Eliza Fletcher on Saturday afternoon and that one male occupant of a dark-colored GMC Terrain was detained for further questioning.
However, police did not find Eliza Fletcher, who remains missing as of Saturday night.
The mother of two children is also a teacher at St. Mary’s Episcopal School, who said in a Facebook statement, “I join the Fletcher and Welford families in praying for Liza’s safe return.”

Personal belongings were found at the scene of Eliza Fletcher’s abduction, and police said a man forced her into a dark SUV, later identified as GMC Terrain, adding that there had been a struggle.
