Maryland police released a photo last week of a man found walking on Interstate 795 outside Baltimore.
“The man, who was said to be of slim build and wearing only black shorts, needed medical attention and was unable to remember his name and family contact information,” police said in a statement.
They seek the help of the public to identify him.
He is described as a white man of slim build, and photographs show him to have brown hair and blue or hazel eyes, and to be unshaven.

Authorities took the man to a local hospital. In the photo, he has a cut on his nose.
After receiving treatment, he remained unable to remember his identity as of Thursday, police said.

Police said they spotted the man walking along Interstate 795 near Owings Mills Boulevard in Baltimore County around 9 p.m. on July 22.

The area is close to the intersection of two major highways in the northeastern suburbs of Baltimore.
Memory loss can be caused by several factors, including traumatic brain injury, neurological disorders, viral infections, and substance abuse, according to the National Library of Medicine. It is also an early symptom of dementia.
