A 29-year-old Los Angeles bank executive has been identified as the third person to be killed in a lightning strike in Washington DC last week.
According to the LA Times, City National Bank said in a statement about the death of employee Brooks Lambertson, “Brooks was an incredible young man who will be remembered for his generosity, kindness and unwavering positivity.” His death has been devastating to all who knew him, and his family, friends and colleagues are grateful for the thoughts and prayers that have come from across the country.”
Lambertson was killed Thursday night while in the capital for a business trip, according to the LA Times. A Wisconsin couple, James Mueller, 76, and Donna Mueller, 75, who are celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary, also died in the strike.
Lambertson is the vice president of City National Bank and has managed the bank’s sponsorships for the past three years, the LA Times reported. He previously worked for the LA Clippers.

DC Fire and EMS responded to reports of lightning strikes in the center of Lafayette Park near the White House at approximately 6:52 pm local time on Thursday.

DC Fire and EMS spokesperson Vito Maggiolo previously told FOX News that officers from the US Secret Service’s Uniform Division and the US Park Police witnessed the strike and immediately began providing assistance to the victims.

White House Press Secretary Carine Jean-Pierre said: “We are saddened by the tragic deaths following the lightning strike in Lafayette Park. I am praying for those who are fighting for it.”
