Kyrie Irving’s name was mentioned in trade rumors on Thursday, and his time at Brooklyn Nets could end with the impending beginning of a free agent.
Nets stars who signed with the team before the start of the 2019-20 season have $ 36.5 million player options to choose from to facilitate trading.
He could choose to test the free agent in anticipation of the biggest deal, but there is no guarantee that he will get the most money in the open market.
He needs to decide whether he will opt in to the deal by June 29th.

ESPN reported that Irving has created a list of teams he and Nets would like to trade if they consider sign-and-trade if they can’t come up with an extension.
The Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks, and Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly on the list.
According to the report, Nets and Irving can only discuss the possibility that he will opt in in the final year of the current transaction, and the free agent will not be able to discuss the new transaction until June 30th.

Whatever Irving and Nets decide to do, it can affect Kevin Durant.
Irving and Durant arrived in Brooklyn together in 2019. And Durant was his greatest defender while the point guard left the team in 2021. Athletic Durant “is seriously considering his future options at Nets,” and “is monitoring the situation,” Durant said in a stadium broadcast.
He added that Irving soon had “expectations” to move “to find a new home through opt-in deals.”
Brooklyn general manager Sean Marks said last month that discussions on Irving’s deal were ongoing, but he was uncommitted about the future of the point guard with the franchise.
“So he has to see what he’s trying to do, such as with his player options,” Marks said. “I think we know what we’re looking for. We’re here looking for someone who wants to be part of something bigger than ourselves. Play selflessly and Play team basketball and it will be available … and it’s not just Killy, but for everyone here. “
