Since arriving in New York 35 years ago, the Jazz at Lincoln Center has been working to define jazz as a form of high art that can only be made in the United States.However, in recent years, the center has become more and more A method of accepting the role of music on the international stage, adopting, inheriting and transforming jazz.

Other headliners of the season include French guitarist Stephen Reinhardt in honor of Django Reinhardt (November 4-5). South African pianist Nduduzo Makhathini and Brazilian mandolinist Hamilton de Holanda co-starred (February 24-25). Brazilian vocalist and guitarist Rosa Passos co-starred with the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master on March 24-25. Numerous guidelights from the jazz crowd under the age of 40 lead their own band. This does not always happen with jazz on the Lincoln Center concert stage. They include pianist Emmet Cohen (21 October), vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant (19-20 May), and trumpet player Etienne Charles (9-10 June). ..
