Has having children changed the way you take risks in your life?
Cameron Yes, I was pretty wild in my youth when I made mistakes. There are many risks that we do not take now. I see some of that wildness in my own kids and there are stories of them being banned until they are a certain age. But it definitely colors your whole perspective of having kids .
I also want to do what other people want is not I’m doing When I watch these epic, spectacular movies—I’m watching you, Marvel, DC—it doesn’t matter how old the characters are. They have a relationship, but they don’t really. They do not spur children. What is it that really grounds us and gives us strength, love and purpose?
Worthington Jim wrote this family in a great way. There, not only is life and death a stake, but the conflict is rather domestic. Even though the world is at war, you still have daily arguments with your children like “wear your clothes, eat your food” etc. Honestly, I don’t see him in the movies. I took a lot of what I learned from reacting to teenage boys into real life. Be a great Santini and keep them in line.
James, even before you had kids, many of your action movies explored that parental dynamic. I am thinking of Sarah Connor and her son John.terminator 2‘, or ‘Ripley and Newt’alien“
Cameron I think it’s a question of what you’re interested in as a scriptwriter and director. One of the things I’ve learned from him is that an actor needs something he can grit his teeth on, something he can draw from his life experience. I did mention that Sam and Zoe are new parents and that this content will resonate with them, but if you’re talking to a younger audience, kids on another planet 200 years from now. but are going through the same crap they are going through now.
Sigourney, how did you react when you found out you were playing a motion-captured 14-year-old boy in Moody?
