Two were killed and more than 12 were injured when Israeli police and special forces were involved in a shooting on the west coast on Sunday, according to Israeli and West Bank officials.
Israeli forces said the shooting took place in the city of Nables and at least two armed Palestinians were killed after an hour of gunshot exchange.
No Israeli officer was injured in the shooting, officials said.

Witnesses heard Israeli authorities demanding that a person surrender in the house when a bullet struck from the house, Reuters reported. According to witnesses, Israeli police returned the fire and killed two people.
The Palestinian Red Crescent has identified the deceased Palestinians as Aboud Sobh (29 years old) and Muhammad Al-Azizi (22 years old). Nineteen other Palestinians were injured in the shooting.
The two injured were in serious condition, local rescue teams added.
A militant group of the Fatah al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade claimed two dead members, according to Reuters.
Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid confirmed the shooting and said the suspect was a “terrorist” who wanted to be involved in the previous shooting.
“We are not going to sit down and wait for Israeli citizens to be harmed,” Rapid said. “We go out and harm the terrorists in their homes.”

A spokesperson for Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said the shooting was the result of an Israeli military “occupation” in the area.
“The region will remain in a cycle of violence until the occupation ends and fair peace is achieved,” said Palestinian Authority spokesman Nabil Abu Rudene.

Shooting is taking place as Israeli troops carry out almost daily raids on the west coast, causing a backlash from local protesters. Recent clashes between protesters and Israeli forces have escalated into violent exchanges, resulting in several deaths.
