An Indiana man is greeted by a hero after saving four young children and his 18-year-old sister from a house fire early Monday morning.
Lafayette’s Nick Bostic was driving a car on his way home after seeing a flame coming out of his house around 12:30 am.
“There was a fire on the balcony, so I stepped on the brakes and pulled the driveway and ran into the house from behind. I shouted,” Is there anyone there? “Bostik told Fox 59.
Bostic rushed into the burning house and saw four people. He helped make them safe immediately, but then one of the children was said to be still missing.

Bostic hurried back home, but faced flames and thick black smoke.
“Smoke came out of nowhere. It was pitch black, pitch black. The heat was intolerable,” said Bostic, Fox 59.
Bostic was able to find the child after hearing a faint cry. He grabbed the child and jumped out of the window upstairs to avoid the flames.
“I grabbed her, hugged her snugly, and ran up those stairs like a running back to Colts. I jumped out of that window,” Bostic said.

“If I’m trapped there or sleeping and there’s a fire, I’m hoping that the driver will think the same if possible,” Bostic said.
Lieutenant Randy Scheller of the Lafayette police station said Bostic’s heroic actions saved his life.

“His selflessness during this incident was inspiring, and he impressed many with his courage, tenacity, and solid calm in the face of such dangerous dangers.” Lieutenant Scheller said.
