An eight-year-old boy, who had been missing for more than a week in the city of Oldenburg in northwestern Germany, was found on Saturday in a sewer in a city about 1,000 feet away from his family’s home.
Residents heard a sound from under the manhole cover at around 6:30 am and called the police.
“When I was found, I was completely undressed and had no serious trauma, but I was dehydrated with severe hypothermia,” said the boy, who police called Joe.
“After assessing all traces and clues, police assume that Joe crawls through a drain in the storm sewer on the day Joe disappears and loses direction a few meters later,” Oldenburg police said in a news release on Tuesday. Said.
