Two soldiers were killed and three others injured in a weather-related incident on Mount Yona in northern Georgia on Tuesday night, an army official said.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Army told FOX 5 in Atlanta that the two soldiers were part of a training program at the Mobility Center of Excellence.
Three other military personnel were also wounded. They were treated by Army medics before being taken to a local hospital.
The soldier’s identity and details about the incident have not been released.

The Army conducts training on Mount Yona, including the mountain phase of the Ranger School. Soldiers who train in the mountains usually report from Camp Merrill in the northern part of the state.
Jonah Mountain is located approximately 70 miles northeast of Atlanta and 170 miles northeast of Fort Benning.

This is the second fatal incident involving a soldier stationed in Georgia in the last month. Late July, Sgt. First Class Michael D. Clark was killed by lightning at Fort Gordon near Augusta. Nine other of his soldiers were also wounded in the incident.
