A Florida sheriff’s agent is said to have been assaulted while in a prison pod because another prisoner came to help a law enforcement officer.
On June 7, prisoner Bridget Harvey, 42, approached Deputy Lilian Jimenez, Sheriff of Hillsboro County, and told her that another prisoner needed help in a women’s toilet. Harvey allegedly attacked Jimenez on his way to the bathroom to check out 37-year-old April Corbin.
According to the sheriff’s office, Harvey approached Jimenez from behind and “put a pillowcase around her neck in an attempt to suffocate her.”
According to a press release, the lieutenant sought help from the emergency response team over the radio, but other prisoners came to help her by “removing the pillowcase around her neck and releasing her from Harvey’s grip.”
