A drone-deployed explosive detonated at Russia’s Black Sea Fleet headquarters, injuring six, Russian officials said on Sunday.
The attack took place during Russian Navy Day celebrations in Sevastopol, the Crimean port city that Russia annexed in 2014. Sevastopol mayor Mikhail Razvodjayev did not elaborate on the extent of the reported injuries of his six injured.
It is unclear who was responsible for the attack.
The attack took place on the same day that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the new Russian naval doctrine in St. Petersburg.

Putin said Russia intends to consolidate its position as a global maritime power and cited the United States as the world’s greatest enemy.

Russian leaders have also warned that Russian warships will soon be equipped with hypersonic weapons.
“What matters here is the capability of the Russian Navy,” Putin said in a speech on Sunday. “We can respond with lightning speed to anyone who decides to violate our sovereignty and freedom.”
Putin’s invasion of Ukraine ends Sunday for a fifth straight month as fighting continues in eastern Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has ordered a forced evacuation from the Dontesk region, where heavy fighting continues.
“The more people leave [the] Now in the Donetsk region, the Russian army will have less time to kill,” Zelensky said on Sunday.
