A 2-year-old girl is fighting for her life in a hospital after being caught in a drive-by shootout in Detroit on Tuesday.
Police said the child was in the vehicle with three adults when a silver jeep was pulled forward and the occupants opened fire, although their identities have not been determined. According to WXYZ Her Detroit, the girl was beaten under her arm.
It is unclear whether the adults with the girl were the target of the shooting.
Another bystander, a 55-year-old man, was also hit after turning away from working on the car to investigate the noise.

WXYZ said both the girl and the man were in a “temporarily critical condition”.
The incident comes about two weeks after a Michigan man was charged with the brutal murder of another two-year-old girl.
