The next big weather story is an incredibly strong cold front that will push the coldest air of the season over the plains over the Gulf Coast over the next few days, dropping temperatures by 20-25 degrees.
Widespread morning lows will set in the late to mid-20s in North Dakota and Minnesota.
Parts of Wisconsin and Michigan will get snow.
More showers and thunderstorms are expected in the southwestern and southern Rocky Mountains, with a risk of flash flooding, especially in burn areas.
Extreme weather has been observed in two regions of the tropics.
