Chicago police say a 3-year-old boy was shot dead Friday night on Chicago’s southwest side.
Police said the incident occurred around 8:38 pm on Friday when a red sedan opened fire on a woman while she was in her 2012 white SUV in the 4400 block of West Marquette. Fox 32.
According to Chicago Police, the child’s mother was previously involved in a road rage incident and left the scene, but the suspect chased the mother’s car and eventually opened fire.
A 3-year-old boy was taken to a local hospital after being shot, but later died.

Police say the suspect has not been detained but is believed to be driving a red Charger or Mustang.

Community activist Andrew Holmes said a $7,000 reward will be paid for information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspects.

He said the 3-year-old’s mother has had his favorite toy since he was killed, adding, “There’s a baby killer on the street.”
