Carrington. ND- More than 100 people attended Kaylor Ellison’s funeral on Monday afternoon, remembering the 18-year-old as “a kind, intelligent and open-minded person.”
Ellinson died Sept. 18, police say Shannon Brandt, 41, admitted to hitting him with an SUV after street dancing at a local bar in McHenry, North Dakota. According to the affidavit, Brandt told the 911 operator that he had beaten a teenager because he was part of a “republican extremist group,” and added that he had a “political argument” with Ellingson. , claimed Ellinson was calling on others to “come and get him,” the court documents continued.
North Dakota Highway Patrol Capt. Brian Neewind told Fox News Digital on Sunday that there was “no evidence” that Ellison was a “republican extremist.” The incident involved politics.
The boy was seriously injured in the incident and was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Ellison’s obituary states that he was “a kind, intelligent, and open-minded man.”
Another person, who chose to remain anonymous in an interview with Fox News Digital, said Ellinson was an “exceptional kid” with a bright future ahead of him.
A message from the Ellison family in the obituary states that the teenager is “on our minds forever.”

The teenager graduated from Carrington High School in May 2022 and died while studying to become an ultrasound technician at the Bismarck State University of Diagnostic Ultrasound.
“That’s all anyone can talk about right now,” one person said of the incident. “I still can’t wrap my head around it. I really can’t.”

Blunt is also not allowed to possess “firearms, destructive devices, or other dangerous weapons” and is not allowed within 300 feet of the Ellinson home.
Brandt is scheduled to appear in court on October 11.
