Researchers have warned beach fans that great white sharks may not be the only ones heading to Cape Cod this summer, as they are also expected.
The warm climate of the northern United States usually coincides with the migration of ferocious creatures to the Massachusetts region.
The Associated Press said at a press conference Wednesday that it “knows that a large shark is here.” “They are always there from June to autumn.”
Winton’s words of caution followed the sighting of great white sharks on Tuesday, with the head of Meadow Beach in Truro, Massachusetts closed for an hour. Locals were able to learn about the closure from the Atlantic WhiteShark Conservancy’s Harktivity app, which tracks confirmed and unidentified shark sightings.

As of Wednesday, the app showed that there were 11 witnesses, both confirmed and unconfirmed, during the past week.
According to Gregory Scomal of the Massachusetts Department of Marine and Fisheries, Great White Sharks focus primarily on the part of Cape Cod facing the Atlantic Ocean. This is due to the population of seals in the area that sharks prey on.

“Sharks will approach the shore if the water is deep,” Skomal said.
However, the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy states that the only way to avoid sharks is to stay on the shore.
