Toronto police have set up a Twitter page showing all the guns they have taken off the streets. But the account’s latest firearm sparked ridicule.
On Monday, Toronto police tweeted a photo of a rusty gun. Clearly a gun that hasn’t worked in years.
A Twitter user thanked the department for keeping Toronto’s dreary streets safe, and was sarcastically witty.

One Twitter user said the rust gun has one serial number.
Another quipped that the gun actually played a role in killing the dinosaur. That was about 65 million years ago.
Another Twitter user pointed out that the gun was so rusty that he would likely take the holder out with a tetanus “before he hurt someone else with an actual bullet.”
All posted guns were seized by Toronto police officers, according to the account. Many of the firearms were used in shootings and other crimes, police said.
