Last week, a Canadian man was arrested for his involvement in an international drug trafficking scheme that used heavy trucks to transport drugs out of Southern California.
FBI agents arrested 40-year-old Sam Nang Bou of Edmonton, Canada last Thursday. According to a criminal complaint filed in federal court, prosecutors say Bou traveled to Southern California in the past year and personally handled deliveries of large quantities of drugs to long-haul truck drivers.
The complaint alleges that Bou made eight drug deliveries to semi-truck drivers, including a shipment of 500 pounds of methamphetamine that was seized by law enforcement on August 23.

During these searches, law enforcement recovered 48 kilograms of suspected cocaine from within two sophisticated hidden compartments in a minivan that Bowe recently locked in a Pasadena storage facility.
More than 1,000 pounds of methamphetamine and 333 kilograms of cocaine were found in seizures over the past year, according to the Justice Department press releaseAccording to the affidavit, “Bou has distributed at least $9.8 million worth of drugs in Los Angeles, which could be several times that amount if exported and resold in Canada.”

Bowe is being held without bail. He is facing life in federal prison from his 10 years and is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 22.
