Nearly 50 deputies from one California sheriff’s office have been dismissed from police duty after being rated “unsatisfactory” on psychological tests dating back to 2016.
In a Sept. 23 letter, Alameda County Sheriff Gregory Ahern alleges that a recent internal audit found that 47 lawmakers received “unsuitable” ratings from January 2016 to date.
The move means that affected lawmakers will be stripped of their arrest powers and firearms, but they will keep their salaries and benefits, Fox San Francisco reported.
Ahern said another psychological test was scheduled and his intention was to “resolve this issue as soon as possible” and “return to full duty once the ‘proper’ results are obtained.” I was.

The letter comes weeks after former Alameda County Deputy Devin Williams Jr. shot and killed a couple in their home after his shift at Santa Rita Prison.
He was romantically involved with a woman who worked as a nurse.
The news outlet reported that sources said Williams failed a psychological test, and due to liability issues, the sheriff is now auditing who else in the department failed.
