Jackson, Miss. – – Students from many schools across the country take less than a month to return to the classroom. Some school districts say they are still struggling to fill their positions.
The school district provides incentives and salary increases to bring more teachers into the classroom by August.
Some teacher recruiters said this wasn’t a new issue, but it got worse during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The pandemic definitely made it worse. It created a new set of challenges, especially in the field of education, where we had to enter the virtual platform at the beginning of an unprepared pandemic.” Mr. Nals said.
