Twenty years after Esha Soni Seetha began making accessories for American homes, including Proenza Schouler, Indian-born designer Mumbai adopted the idea of slow fashion. For one thing, she believes that luxury goods should be a rare investment that lasts forever (and is never marked down). Now she brings that spirit to her new line of the same name, Esha Soni. For three years, Shisa worked with artisans in Italy and New York to develop her debut collection. The collection includes three handbags made of French calf, suede and spelled ponies, inspired by Jules Oritzky’s color field paintings and the shapes of the biological forms carved by Hans Arp. The sterling silver and gold vermail necklace looked like a river stone strand and was a collaboration with jeweler Christine McPartland. The arctote is tilted to one side and can be seen twice, but the slope seems to be calling for a cocktail party. “I used to call it a bangle bag,” Seetha says of her removable bracelet handle. Artistic bags have always been the centerpiece of her brand, but she envisions Esha Soni’s customers as people who value beauty of all kinds and is now a bespoke container made by ceramist Devin Fina. We have completed the selection of. “In a perfect world, every collection is born, exists, and never dies,” says Seetha. Handbags from $ 1,950, eshasoni.com..

Kaleidoscope-like cabinet
The recent resurgence of Scandinavian interior design trends means warm wood, clean lines, and the ubiquity of spare furniture without discomfort. Created by Amsterdam-based artists Gijs Frieling and Job Wouters, the multicolored cabinets make up the duo’s first US solo exhibition at Future Perfect’s West Village outpost, greatly expanding this stereotype. Working under the Englishized Monica Freeling Waters, the pair sourced 18th and 19th century pinewood cabinets from an antique store and strikingly geometric with a vibrant and fantastic palette. I decorated it with a shape. Freeling, a traditional Dutch folk mural painter, and Wooters, known for their psychedelic calligraphy, have been collaborating on art exhibitions, books and men’s clothing since 2008, but in 2020 they focused on furniture. .. “What I call has a tradition. The’poor rococo’of Scandinavian decorative furniture,” Freeling said, referring to how their cabinets extend the Dutch countryside ornamental tradition. To do. Each work is drawn as a whole, including the inside. Inside, there are more patterns, colors, and, for example, ghostly silhouettes of vases and ornate glassware. With gradations, swabs and moiré, the antiques have been remade as modern antiques. “We’re adding a very thin layer that gives new life to these old parts that could otherwise be discarded,” Wouters said. “Freeling Waters: Collection III” is on display until June 17th. thefutureperfect.com..
What is the clean smell like? According to Diptyque, a French perfume known for its candles and fragrances, you might just stroll through the Mediterranean gardens. At least it’s a reminder given by a multi-faceted cleanser in a new 6-piece cleaning product line called LaDroguerie or “drugstore” through lavender, sugi and fig tree notes. Created by perfumer Olivier Pecheux behind the scents of Dior and Sisley, In addition to the Diptyque collection, it also includes dishwashing liquid, leather and wooden conditioners, ceramic oval snuggling up to sweater and lingerie drawers, and refills to reduce waste. The soap is citrus, with the scent of mandarin and orange blossoms, and the lotion polishes those household items, leaving the scent of woody patchouli. This is Diptyque, so of course the mix contains candles. The company’s partner, fragrance maker Givaudan, has developed a technology that allows candles not only to hide old and unpleasant odors, but also to absorb and replace them. In this case, it smells of mint, basil and crushed tomato leaves. From $ 15 diptyqueparis.com..
Londoners Tobias Vernon, curator of art and design studio and gallery 8 Holland Street, and Christine Van Der Hurd, founder of textile atelier Vanderhurd, are also close collaborators who have designed various interiors for over a decade. Traveled around the world with a common eye on clients and antiques. But relatively recently, they embarked on their first joint product release. This happened after spending a free afternoon on a business trip in New York to see Donald Judd’s retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. The checkerboard is a collection of six dury rugs with a repeating pattern of squares, inspired by Judd’s method of transforming space in the form of a cube. As Van Der Hurd puts it, “squares are very classic and architectural” and remind us of a wide range of times and styles from ancient Rome to mid-century modernism. The rugs made by North Indian artisans using hand-spun natural hemp in warm contrasting color combinations (rust and sky, noir and ocher) are named after various chess pieces. It features squares of various sizes. It’s more personal, “says Van Der Hurd. Duo likes bespoke designs, but Vernon states that the collection is intended to be versatile and not very valuable. “It’s urban, rustic, historic and modern,” he says. “And like chess, it’s a bit serious, but it also means playful.” From $ 1,450 8hollandstreet.com..
