New York Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole had a problem with Toronto Blue Jays starter Alec Manoa during Sunday’s game.
Manoa hit Yankees slugger Aaron Judge with a pitch in the bottom of the fifth. Manoa’s pitch hit the judges and hit the outfielder’s left arm. The judges were walking to first base when Cole burst out of the dugout and started barking at Manoa.

Cole appeared to urge the referee to remove Manoa from the game for the hit.
A little back and forth the Coolerheads seemed to have the upper hand.

Manoa, who made an All-Star for the first time in his career this season, made 23 starts against 579 hitters against the Yankees. He has a league-leading 12 hitters. He also led the league last season with 16 of 459 hitters. His ERA through Sunday he had 2.71.
The Blue Jays were looking for a Yankees sweep.
Cole was tagged for 6 innings with 5 hits and 4 runs Saturday against the Blue Jays.
New York was able to lose those games despite allowing only two runs in two starts before this season. The Yankees have not won the game Cole started his July 29 against the Kansas City Royals. Cole has not scored a decisive win since July 17 against the Reds against his Sox in Boston.

He has a 3.41 ERA and 189 strikeouts in 25 starts.
