Anthony Rizzo went 12-60 with five home runs and 12 strikeouts in his last 17 games for the New York Yankees before facing the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday.
His frustration boiled over.

In the bottom of the third, Rizzo was hit by a ball from Ryan Yarbrough – an inside curve that hurt Rizzo’s leg from the left side of the plate. It was denied by home plate umpire DJ Rayburn, who claimed there was not enough to do.
Rizzo was clearly shaken, but kept his cool and returned to the batter’s box.
The first baseman eventually strikes out.

Once in the dugout, Rizzo vented his frustration on his helmet. He slammed it shut several times before walking to the other side.
Rizzo stayed in the game. He got his 18th double of the season off Rays opener Jalen Beeks.
However, the Yankees were scoreless until the fifth inning. The team closed Sunday night against the Boston Reds against the Sox.
