Charlotte, North Carolina – With Democrats and Republicans evenly split in the U.S. Senate, the stakes are high in Senate elections in key Tossup states.
Former President Donald Trump is a vocal supporter of the candidate he supports. But some big names are less into these races. President Biden. why? It likely comes down to Biden’s popularity.
For example, he’s unpopular in North Carolina, which may be one reason why he’s never campaigned with a Democratic candidate in North Carolina.
Just two weeks after Election Day, polls are tight in major Senate elections in states like Nevada, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.

“They’re ahead, we’re ahead, they’re ahead,” President Biden said at a news conference on Friday.
Biden keeps a close eye on these campaigns, but has not been directly involved in most of them.
“The president is welcome to North Carolina,” said Democrat Cheri Beasley, who is running for North Carolina’s Senate.

“Cheri Beasley always finds a way to be very busy whenever Joe Biden’s administration comes to North Carolina,” said Ted Budd, a Beasley opponent and Trump-backed congressman.
Budd said Beasley doesn’t want to be publicly bound by Biden’s policies.
“If Biden visited here and there was a picture of Beasley and Biden together, it would easily appear in a Budd TV commercial, and Beasley is trying to prevent that.
President Biden said he had fielded 15 candidates in the midterm elections. He visited candidates in almost certainly blue states such as California, Oregon and Colorado. Then Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania isn’t exactly blue, but Biden was born there.
“Having connections with local boys is enough to offset public criticism of Biden’s performance as president,” Heverlig said.

Biden will travel to Florida next week for a rally and fundraiser with Democrats, including gubernatorial candidate Charlie Christ. Heberlig said the visit was low risk as Democrats were not expected to win anyway.
“Even if the visit is unlikely to help Christo beat Gov. Ron DeSantis, Florida is likely to remain on the somewhat competitive list in 2024, so Biden will give it personal attention. We have incentives,” said Heberrig.
