Minnesota Vikings Quarterback Kirk Cousins has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be unable to face the Las Vegas Raiders in Minnesota’s preseason opener on Sunday, head coach Kevin O’Connell announced Friday.
cousin was sent home from home Viking practice facility on Thursday with an undisclosed illness. A positive result means you will have to quarantine for five days before returning to the team.
“He’s feeling pretty good and has limited symptoms,” O’Connell said. According to the Vikings website“He’s exhausting me about the installation this morning and his plans for Sunday. Unfortunately, he won’t be making the trip.

In March, the NFL suspended COVID-19 protocols and ended mandatory testing of players and masking at team facilities.

The Vikings will be eyeing two backup quarterbacks in Kellen Mond and Sean Mannion. Mondo will be entering his second season in the league after being drafted by the team in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
