The Republican candidate running for Utah Senate dropped a rap-style video promoting her campaign, sparking ridicule from social media users.
Utah grandmother Linda Paulson is running for the Utah Senate seat in District 12. She announced her candidacy in a video posted on her YouTube.
Paulson, who appeared to be having a blast in the video, began rapping at the dance and professed his love for “God and family and the Constitution.”
“I tried to get another conservative to run. No one could do it. So I’m doing it,” my grandmother said.

Paulson said he supports religious freedom, livelihoods, the police, the right to bear arms and freedom of speech.
Paulson then “To support the traditional family as the basic unit of society. ”
Paulson also added, “Let me be clear…As a grown woman, I know what women are.”
“If you share my values and like what I stand for, please vote on Nov. 8,” said the candidate. “District 12 needs a choice. You.” Please let me represent the voice of
“Linda Paulson, Senator Linda Paulson,” Paulson concluded, raising her hand.
The video received over 74,000 views on Paulson’s YouTube channel and millions of views after being shared by various Twitter users.
It was met with mixed reactions on social media, with some users describing it as shameful and unattractive for Republicans.
“Imagine voting for an adult who actually thought this was a good idea,” read one of YouTube’s highest-rated comments.
“Her granddaughter played Hamilton in a car once and she said, ‘I can do it,'” joked another commenter.

“This must be a joke. This must be satire,” wrote one stunned social media user.
However, not all social media users hated it, with some describing it as “wholesome.”
“Ah, cute. She looks like a good girl.” One Twitter user said. “If I lived there, I would vote for her.”
“Linda Paulson, if I lived in Utah, you would have my vote!” exclaimed another commentator.
Paulson’s video even caught the attention of Christian conservative rapper Bryson Gray.
Gray provided a remix of Paulson’s video he shared on Twitter.
He starts off by saying, “Linda, I get it.”
“Vote for Linda and District 12 will be pumped. So vote for Linda Paulson. Why are you stalling? She’s got Utah Balin,” raps Gray.
Mr. Paulson is at odds with Democratic incumbent Karen Mayne, who is also the minority leader of the Utah Senate.
Paulson did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
