After the thriller of Thursday night’s semifinals, the US Open women’s final is set.
Poland’s No. 1 seed Igaswirtek is set to take on Tunisia’s No. 5 Oz Jabbar at Flushing Meadows on Saturday.

Swiatek and No. 6 Arnya Sabalenka battled in Queens late Thursday as each sought to reach their first US Open final. Sabalenka won the first set with her 6-3, but in the second his Swiatek won his 6-1 and in the third he won 6-4.
“I had to get it together,” Swiertek said after the match about losing the first set.
Sabalenka is currently 0-3 in Grand Slam semifinals. But the top seed has won the French Open twice, including this year’s tournament.

Jabbar defeated Caroline Garcia in straight sets early on Thursday to advance to Saturday’s final.
Jabbar is aiming for his first Grand Slam title. She is also the first African to reach the women’s final of the US Open in her professional career, dating back to 1968.
Jabbar admitted that there has been pressure since reaching the final, but she has certainly played calmly so far.
Swiatek defeated Jabeur in the final of the Internazionali BNL D’Italia women’s singles tournament in Rome in May this year, but Jabeur will beat her in the round of 16 at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships.
A victory on Saturday would make Spheretec the youngest player since Maria Sharapova to complete three Grand Slam majors.
