Former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard called on Twitter on Saturday for the Biden administration, which allegedly turned law enforcement into a “political blow force” that pursued critics but blinded its allies.
In a tweet, Gabbard was convicted of former White House official Steve Bannon (who served under former President Donald Trump) for congressional contempt, but the Biden administration was former Director of National Intelligence. Director of the Central Intelligence Agency John Brennan, who pointed out that he was not pursuing charges against James Clapper and the former director—both served under former President Barack Obama.
She accused Clapper and Brennan of lying to Congress.
Steve Bannon pleaded guilty to contempt of Congress for ignoring January. 6 Hearing summons
“What do you think about Banon, the fact that he was charged with contempt of Congress has never been charged with Clapper, Brennan, and others who lied to Congress.” Gabbard tweeted.
The Justice Department charged two charges of contempt of Congress on Friday after Banon ignored the subpoena from the House Select Commission to investigate the attack on the US Capitol on January 6.
He faces 30 days to 1 year in prison for each misdemeanor.
Gabbard’s comments arrive almost a month after she appeared in “Jesse Waters Prime Time.” There, he proposed without elaborating on the fact that some Democrats were operating outside the scope of the law.
“We need to stay within the constitution and the rule of law. I frankly think that what I’ve heard from some Democrats is even more dangerous than the horror you’re talking about. “We need to do whatever it takes to save America,” Gabbard said on June 24.
Former lawmaker Tulsi Gabbard reveals Democratic “dangerous thinking” and “compares with dictator”
She also compared the actions of Democrats with the dictator who said and did what it took to maintain power.
“Almost every dictator you look through history and do whatever they feel they need to do feels that their cause is justified. As much as possible to save the country and save the people. Our society, which feels it has to do, is also against the Constitution, undermining democracy and destroying the country in the process. ” “This is necessary to protect ourselves, our country and our future.”
Brennan and Clapper were initially accused of lying to Congress at a hearing in March 2013, and the NSA has a database that collects “all sorts of data about millions or hundreds of millions of Americans.” I denied that.
At the Senate Intelligence Selection Committee, Senator Ron Weiden of D-Ore asked: “Last summer, the NSA director attended a meeting and was asked about NSA surveillance in the United States. He replied.” The story that we have hundreds of millions of documents for millions of people It’s completely wrong. “
“The reason I’m asking is because I’ve been on the committee for 12 years and I really don’t know what the paperwork is in this context, so what I wanted to see was that you told me yes Is it possible to give or if there is no answer to the question, does the NSA collect all sorts of data about millions of Americans? “Weiden asked.
“No,” Clapper replied. “Unknowingly” Brennan denied such a program as well.
Three months later, former NSA intelligence consultant Edward Snowden released a confidential document proving that this was not the case. Then a campaign was launched in which Clapper and Brennan clarified their remarks.
In a letter to Dianne Feinstein, Chairman of the Intelligence Committee, Clapper admitted He responded “obviously wrong” that he was forced to “openly correct” because he “simply didn’t think” about the mass collection program.
The following year, in a speech at the Intelligence and National Security Summit in Washington, DC, Brennan blamed the media for the “misunderstanding” of his remarks.
At the same summit, Mr. Clapper said, “When I was accused of lying to Congress because of a mistake … I had to answer on the fly about a particular categorized program in a general and unsafe setting.” Reported.
The accusations of lying were something the intelligence officer couldn’t shake, but neither has been formally charged.
“I didn’t lie, I made a big mistake, and I just didn’t understand what I was being asked about,” Clapper said in an interview with CNN in 2019. When asked about the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, Article 215 of the Patriot Act at the time, I didn’t understand it. “
The NSA had a large amount of metadata collection programs at the time of the federal-approved testimony of Clapper and Brennan in response to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Clapper also admitted that the system was present in the same 2019 interview, but said he considered the mass surveillance system a “safeguard or insurance policy.”
“This program was implemented as a direct result of 9/11. The point is to be able to quickly track foreign communion talking to someone in this country who may have been plotting terrorists. That’s why the Bush administration said. ” “I always considered it a kind of safeguard or insurance policy, so I should refer to it when the need arises.
