Late Monday night, President Trump spewed out his latest rant against the FBI’s search of his home on his social media platforms, releasing a “completely unredacted” affidavit used to justify the search. I asked for immediate publication.
“There is no way to justify the unannounced raid on Mar-a-Lago,” the former president wrote to Truth Social. “Home of the 45th President of the United States (who received far more votes than any sitting president in the history of this country!)”
Trump also referred to “gun-carrying FBI agents” and “the Department of Justice” in the post.
“However, to ensure transparency, we call for the immediate release of a fully unredacted affidavit regarding this horrific and shocking intrusion,” the business mogul continued. The judge should resign!”

The former president’s latest rant comes after the DOJ filed a motion to prevent the release of the affidavit used to search the Florida mansion.

The Justice Department has said it will comply with the court’s order to partially open the affidavit, but “respectfully requests an opportunity to provide the court with the proposed redaction.”
The Justice Department said it unsealed the search warrant on Friday after the government “determined that these materials could be released without material prejudice to the investigation.”

Despite objecting to the release of the affidavit, the Department of Justice proved that it would not prevent the release of other documents related to the FBI investigation into Mar-a-Lago, including the warrant cover sheet.
Trump has doubled down on attacks on national intelligence agencies, and has asserted the searches and seizures are part of a political plot to prevent him from running for president again.
