Former golfer Tom Watson and his wife, Leslie Ann Wade, have announced that they are ending their marriage after just three months.
A longtime CBS Sports executive, Wade suffered an “unexpected illness” that forced him to end his marriage.
“Over the past few months, I have been alone and focused on a difficult road due to an unexpected illness. Tom has been supportive, including ensuring that I receive the best possible care. I cannot thank him enough and congratulate him on my full and complete recovery, Wade tweeted on Monday.
“Sadly, our inability to properly launch and build our relationship in the early stages forced us to end our marriage. He will always mean the world to me.” , our connection is eternal.”

Wade is Watson’s third wife. He was married to Linda Rubin for most of his professional career from 1972 until his 1997.

Watson and Wade got engaged in May and married two months later.
Wade was Senior Vice President of Communications for CBS Sports. The couple met 15 years ago.
