Tennessee Titans 3rd round draft pick Malik Willis He made his preseason debut on Thursday night and, like most rookies, showed flashes of potential mixed with areas in need of additional work.
Willis started for the Titans, going 23-10 and completing 6 of 11 passes for 107 yards without a touchdown or interception. Lost to Baltimore RavensIt was Willis’ feet that made the most exciting play, rushing for 38 yards and a touchdown on five carries.
Willis said after the game, “I mean, there’s a lot to learn and see from movies, so I think it’s really cool to go out and play football again.” According to NFL.com“You know, I probably missed some things, but I made up for it with my legs and kept relying on it, but that’s what preseason is about.

“I mean, just watch these things against live defense that you’ve never played before….you have to watch the movie, see the value, and keep working. I mean, we is in the middle of the camp.”
At the start of the second quarter, Willis dodged pressure from the Baltimore front and rushed for a 7-yard touchdown.

It was a play Titans head coach Mike Vrabel wanted to see more of.

“He needs to try to throw the ball when the opponents are open, he needs to be more decisive,” Vrabel said. “We’ll evaluate it and see if there are any timing issues or what’s going on with the release and if we’re making the right decisions.”

Willis was drafted by Liberty after Tennessee traded up and caught him in the third round. He competes with Logan Woodside for the backup job behind Ryan Tannehill.
