Tampa Bay Lightning defeated Colorado Avalanche 3-2 and won Game 5.
Ondley Paratt scored the first goal at 6:22. Palato’s shot passes behind the net, past the avalanche goalkeeper Darcy Kaempfer’s glove. That was exactly what Lightning needed to pass through Colorado. Tampa Bay did not track the entire game, so it sends the series back to the East Coast.

It was the eleventh goal of Palato in the series.
Tampa Bay won a big match from goalkeeper Vasilevsky. He stopped 36 shots and managed to curb Colorado’s powerful attacks for most of the game. The only two goals he allowed were Valerie Nichushkin in the second term and Kale McCar in the third term.

In the third period, after Macar’s shot hit Vasilevsky, he bounced off Lightning defense Eric Chernak and passed through Vasilevsky’s foot. Goals tied the game early in the period.
But it was Palato’s goal to give Lightning some additional hope.
Jan Rutta scored points in the first period and placed Lightning on the board first. In the second period, Nikitakcherov scored in power play and raised Tampa Bay to 2-1.
Colorado was able to finish the series with a victory. The team currently has a 3-2 lead in the series against Lightning, and Sunday’s victory could give them the first Stanley Cup championship since 2001.
